Hey Now! I'm an All-Star / June 2014

Did you dream about being a rock star when you were a kid?

I did.

June 2014

I know you all know me as a mild mannered folk singer, but I'm also a rocker at heart.  I think it's about time I shed some light on another project I'm involved in.  As most of you know I work part time at Founders Brewing Co where I also host the Open Mic Night.  Founders is an awesome place to work.  One of many, many cool things about Founders is the FBC All-Stars.  The FBC All-Stars are a band made up of all Founders employees.  It includes the Head Brewer, Brew Captain, Head Cellarman, Deli Manager, Taproom Manager, Warehouse Manager, a Deli employee and a few Taproom staffers including myself.  I'm one of the vocalists.  We all share taking lead vocals and singing background vocals.  I also sometimes play auxiliary percussion.  This is our fifth year as a band and over they years we've worked up a ton of popular songs.  Last weekend we took the show on the road for the second time to Philly Beer Week where we played at the famed World Cafe Live in Philadephia, PA.  In this band I get to yell, scream, sing like a woman and occasionally play bongos and tambourine.  It fulfills a side of my musical hunger that can't be satiated by solo or duo shows, or even Bandwagon gigs.  In the FBC All-Stars I get to play a rock star.  I let my hair down and wear shiny clothes.  I pump my fist.  I do a little dance or two.  It's a blast!  It's a role I wholeheartedly threw myself into.  I've sang songs from Tom Petty, Dire Straights, Rick James and even Faith No More.  Like I said, this band allows me - no, no, encourages me to do things I simply cannot do otherwise.  And I love it!  If you'd like to see what the FBC All-Stars looks like come and see us at Founders Fest on June 21st!  There are also a ton of photos from years past, our recent trip to Philly, and a lot more comng on the FBC All-Stars Facebook page.  Check it out and give us a "Like" us by clicking here.
